Visual MisPerceptions: A series of posters against smoking, designed to display techniques of subliminal messages. I am currently designing a book to display these posters and detailed portions to better expose the subliminal messages, while also supplying portions of the research that led to these posters; images of this book will be up for viewing the end of March.
Elegant Noose: The embed in this poster is a noose, drawn with the texture of the ashes
(stemming from the end of the cigarette butt on the far right)
Subtle Suicide by Suffocation: There are two embeds in this poster. The first is the word "suicide" written diagonally in the texture of the ashes starting to the right of the large chunk of white ash. The second is the word "suffocate" written lightly along the upper rim of the ash tray at the top left side.
Choke to Death: In this poster I have used the pieces of mulch to spell out "DEATH," beginning below the bottom cigarette. To the upper right of the top cigarette there is a skull. Thridly I have written "choke" in the white end of the cigarette.
Skulls: In this poster there are multiple small, white skulls drawn into the pile of ashes. There is also a skull drawn at the tip of the orange cigarette at the far left.
Playing Hangman: In this poster I have drawn a silhouette image of a man hanging himself from a tree. This poster uses syncretistic illusion, no embedded imagery.
Steps to Suicide: This poster also reflects my research of syncretistic ilussion. Across the top of the steps I have manipulated the bushes to spell out "Suicide", further in the background there are also two nooses hanging from the trees.
